My Tiny Robots formed in 2006 when friends Russell Williams and Dylan Childs recruited Ryan Marinello after having heard rumours of his multi-instrumentalist prowess at a tractor pull at the royal highland show. They released their “Some of my best ideas” E.P in the summer of 2007 with drummer Hugh Fox, on their own Kraken Records label.
When Hugh emigrated to Guildford to pursue a career in blacksmithery, the robots collaborated with a number of different musicians including prog percussionist Niall MacGalloway and legendary jazz trombonist Kenneth Watts-Radge.
Following a brief period of quiet hibernation, the Robots emerged blinking and invigorated at the start of 2010 with new drummer Gareth Anderson whom they had rescued from a life of misery, soundtracking roller derbies across Scotland, where upon they embarked on a series of successful gigs and have recently returned from Tape Studio’s House of Nakaska where they recorded four songs in the clean mountain air of Aviemore.
